So i was talking to a new friend of mine who is either an ISTJ or an ISTP, not sure which...

anyways, she just finished 11 years in the military and now she's out in the civilian world. Well we both had to take this personality assessment for our jobs, and on hers it said she was indecisive and nonaggressive in seeking a solution and stuff. She said it was because in the military you have it drilled into you that you always solve problems at the lowest level first, and you never go above the chain of command on something. So when she answered questions like "Woudl you go to your manager about X" she said "no" because it was drilled into her that you ask a teammate first and try to fix it before going to a superior. She could easily be a totally different Enneatype but the military makes her look like a 9.

Yeah I'm the same way. There have been a couple times where I can't separate myself from military training.

i think your military experiences are what's making you question your type right now. i mean...you may be an ENTJ, but just getting out of what was an unnatural habitat for you and then suddenly being completely free...but also still with the mental chains of the training? Also you're 24, so yeah.

also i think it's the reason people were saying you sound like a 6 (even though you clearly are not). Military brainwashes you into thinking that way like either a 3 or a 6. Also most of your 6 experiences have been with military 6s.

I was in an environment where I couldn't be assertive. In fact most environments I'm in I'm not allowed to be. I've been banned from like, 4 forums before personality cafe just because I say shit. If I told my boss to go stuff herself I'd get fired. The navy taught me how to "bend over."

Its funny because people tell me I should stand up to my boss... quite frankly that's a terrible idea. When I told boss on percafe that she was a "fucking cancer" she got really quiet and inguz said, "I think I'm gonna have to change my typing, boss" At that point I didn't care if I got banned or not so I spoke my mind. The post has been deleted though.

exactly....they'd see your hesitation or doubt and be like "see you're a 6" but it's more like someone who's reached out and been smacked so many times that suddenly you're wary about where you reach out.

its' like that experiment where they shock the mouse when he tries to eat real food, and zap his "happy parts" of his brain when he eats poison. Doesn't mean his nature is now to eat poison, it means he doens't like getting shocked.

^Siren, it was the same for me. When I first took the test, I thought, what the hell is this? But once I found good resources and information on it, it is very insightful.
