I scored as moderately Dismissive–avoidant and I think it describes me.

On a similar note, this article claims that those who need space and autonomy in a relationship may have a fear of engulfment. They often pair up with types who fear abandonment. These relationships can evolve into something along the lines of love addiction.

Not really surprising.

As for the article, no thank you. While I'm dismissive-avoidant I don't partake in ridiculous relationship settings that will obviously do absolutely nothing to enrich my life. Plus, I don't relate to the causes mentioned that'd lead to 'Fear of Engulfment'.

Those type of relationships are for the emotionally unstable/lost - and what's worse, there are by far too many of them.

If the topic interests you however (Fear of Engulfment that is) look up SPD and/or read Fritz Riemann's book 'Anxiety'.
